The Derma Roller, otherwise known as Microneedling, uses a small device which holds tiny needles to cause punctures in the skin. This technique can be used to help rejuvenate the skin, treat acne scarring, and reduce signs of ageing.
Derma Roller treatment causes tiny punctures to the skin as a result of the needles. This encourages the body to respond in a wound healing way by traumatising the skin. This prompts the skin to repair itself resulting in the production of new collagen and elastin whilst also generating new cells.
Microneedling is a dermaroller procedure that uses small needles to pierce the skin, this generates new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin. It's mostly used on the face and may treat various scars, wrinkles, stretch marks, pigmentation and large pores.
Microneedling can also be used on the body to treat all of the above. Due to the tiny micro needles, slight discomfort may be caused. Numbing of the area is recommended prior to treatment.
